Using Prezi

I had meant to post a blog about this before Christmas but it was so chaotic and I was reminded about it today. We had to carry out a maths presentation on an aspect on the history of maths and I learnt that there were a lot of actual people behind mathematical discoveries that we used today without even thinking. Our group focused on the history of Archimedes and his theory of displacement. Laura who is also in our ICT elective class created a Prezi presentation, which was a very eye-pleasing way of displaying our information and the rest of the class were suitably impressed. This has taught me the effectiveness of transferrable skills within modules and areas of the curriculum and how important this is within a classroom situation. We learnt about Prezi in our computing elective but it can be used in a variety of useful ways as a teacher. This is a link to our presentation:

  1. I really like Prezi as an excursion from the often lambasted PowerPoint. As always,c t is amazing how creative young people can get with tech with very little levels of demonstration/teaching on how to use it.

It is a pity that your presentation is only available to people with a Uni login. Mine has long expired. You can blame Dave for putting your blog address 'out there'.

  2. Good to see you spotting the "transferrable skills. Speak to me next class and we'll have a go at posting a publicly accessible link to the Prezi here
